Bone Strength Kalp
PRAKRUTI RAKSHA BONE STRENGTH KALP
Chronic degenerative disease in which the cartilage between the joints is worn down; also known as degenerative joint disease and hypertrophic arthritis.
MOST COMMONLY AFFECTED PEOPLE:
Adults of both sexes over the age of 45, but more common in women. Everyone is affected by joint changes over the years, but not everyone has severe or disabling symptoms.
Organ or part of the body affected: usually the weight-bearing joints, in particular the toes, ankles, knees, and spine.
Finger joints are also sensitive, perhaps because they are under so much strain. It is often the fingers that show the first visible signs of the disorder.
Indications and symptoms: Stiffness and pain in affected joints. The pain can be affected by the weather and worse when it is cold and damp.
There is a deficiency of smoothness and development in the impacted joint. There may be a cracking or grinding sound with movement and the joints may show signs of swelling. It is frequently joined by muscle squandering and shortcomings in the impacted region.
CAUSES AND RISK FACTORS:
Most instances of osteoarthritis have no known reason and are called essential osteoarthritis. At the point when the reason for osteoarthritis is known, it is called auxiliary osteoarthritis.
Primary osteoarthritis is mainly related to aging. With aging, the water content of cartilage increases, and the protein composition of cartilage degenerates.
Repeated use of the joints over the years irritates and inflames the cartilage causing joint pain and swelling.
Eventually, the cartilage begins to degenerate by peeling off or forming small cracks. In advanced cases, there is a complete loss of the cartilaginous cushion between the bones of the joints.
The loss of the cartilage pad causes friction between the bones, resulting in pain and limited joint mobility. Auxiliary osteoarthritis is brought about by another illness or condition.
Conditions that can lead to secondary osteoarthritis include obesity, repeated trauma or surgery to joint structures, joints that are abnormal at birth (birth defects), gout, diabetes, and other hormonal disorders.
Certain occupations are likely to pose a higher risk, e.g. certain sports, ballet, dance, or other activities that strain the joints.
Prevention: Exercise your joints and muscles to improve your strength and flexibility. Oversee weight to alleviate the weight on weight-bearing joints.
